4 Signs it’s Time to Replace your Boiler

Age 

If your condensing boiler has standard maintenance, you can expect it to operate about 15 years or more. Cast iron boilers can last even longer, even up to 50 years with proper maintenance. If your condensing boiler is coming up on 15 years or your cast iron boiler is almost 50 years, it may be time to discuss an upgrade. 

Bills 

If your utility bills are increasing or you’re having to service your boiler more often, it could be because it’s time to purchase a new, more efficient boiler. 

Discoloration 

If you discover yellow flames on the gas burners and black soot on oil burners it could be a sign that the fuel is not burning properly and could be creating carbon monoxide. If you notice these issues or have any concerns surrounding carbon monoxide in your home, you should call Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing or your gas company straightaway. 

Comfort 

If some of the sections in your home are too cool or too warm and you can’t seem to control them properly or get them comfortable, it could be that your boiler is no longer effective and you could need to look into upgrade alternatives.
