We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Nothing is worse than laying down at night and realizing your furnace won’t start up. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, obstructing air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but make sure the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating system will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 239-908-6991 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
