Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

In October 2016, two Service Experts centers will be turning heads with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their company vans pink for the fight cure breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to the North Jersey Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be contributing 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to fundraise for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air raised over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his employees both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the number of cases is actually decreasing each year, that still leaves a significant number of families who are dealing with this disease, and that means there’s an immediate need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, seconded Schneider’s sentiments. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the leading type of cancer in North Carolina – for both females and males.”
